WECO WINDOWS has been distinguished with the RED DOT AWARD: PRODUCT DESIGN 2015, an award that recognises the best product designs at an international level.
Our WECO 2C window has been selected by an international jury made up of 38 experts, who have assessed 4,928 products from 56 countries.
Red Dot rewards exceptional design under the slogan "In search of excellence". The competition has become one of the biggest for design concepts. The Red Dot quality mark represents a distinctive feature for design innovation. The members of the jury examine the submitted products on the basis of the following criteria: degree of innovation, aesthetic quality, feasibility, functionality, and the quality of the product.
Architect's Newspaper (AN), the renowned American magazine, has awarded WECO WINDOWS' WECO 2C window its Best Product Award 2015 in the category of openings. In the first edition of the awards, WECO windows was one of the eight companies awarded in different categories, out of a total of 400 candidates who presented their products.
The Best Product of AN is the second international award that WECO 2C has achieved in less than a year. Last June WECO windows was awarded with the Red Dot Award 2015 in a ceremony in Essen, Germany.
Jury statement:
“This system represents a fundamental reinterpretation of the window frame concept – one that opens up completely new design possibilities for architects and designers. A fantastic solution.”
Three Spanish architects collaborated to create a new, attractive wood window series with large expanses of uninterrupted glass under the company name WECO System. The slim-profile frames are composed of 100% birch plywood with phenolic resin glues, while the double or triple glazing is tempered and laminated for thermal, acoustical, and weather performance. Suitable for residential and small commercial projects.
Our W2C window has won the Silver A' Design Award for 2016 in the building systems category. The award is dedicated to recognising the best designs in a wide range of products and services internationally. We travelled to Como, Italy in June to receive the award. It is the third international design award for WECO Windows, following the Red Dot Award and the Best Products Award from the American magazine The Architect's Newspaper, both received in 2015.
WECO WINDOWS IS AWARDED WITH THE ICONIC AWARDS PRIZE 2017. CATEGORY :: BEST OF BEST On the 4th of October was the ceremony at the Doppelkegel BMW Welt“ in Munich. Naturally, we went personally to pick up this award with such prestige.
As the first independent international architecture and design competition, the Iconic Awards of the German Design Council focus on the interaction between the individual disciplines in architecture: Excellent performances in architecture and interior design, products and innovative technologies in building equipment as well as concepts and instruments of convincing communication will be awarded. With and integrated perspective on architecture, the competition, initiated in 2013, views iconic building as a result of an intensive and balanced interaction between all of these aspects. The Iconic Awards offer architects, planner and their partners in industry, design and brand communication a representative platform for the efficient public presentation of their services.
The International Design Awards (IDA) exists to recognise, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design. IDA aspires to draw attention to the iconoclasm of design worldwide, conceptualising and producing great work. Farmani Group assembled IDA as the design sibling of the Annual Lucie Awards for Photography, which has emerged as one of the world’s most prestigious photography awards.
WECO revolutionises the traditional wood window, adapting the latest technical advances to create a high-performance design that is both elegant and innovative.
Key technical breakthrough: the self-supporting glass is uninterrupted by any frame, becoming a sheer transparent plane. This solution maximises the windows open area, which is completely unobstructed by any structural element.
The system boasts high certified ratings for thermal and acoustic insulation, water and wind resistance, and security. It includes a large variety of window types for many different applications.
This innovative concept results in a design that stands out for its simplicity, quality of detail and elegance, combining the warmth of wood and the contemporary appeal of uninterrupted glass.
The art of Innovating and designing is in challenging balance with the mastery of entrepreneurship; a bitter tautness which turns sweet in the face of recognition.
We are honoured to receive this accolade and would like to thank the 2020 Architecture Awards for their indisputable talent to distinguish architecture and building forms that maintain these three core values alive and, additionally, converge in sustainability. Thank you.
