WECO Windows offer a sustainable wood window system suitable for a wide range of buildings. Contact our experienced team for expert advice and guidance.
We revolutionise the traditional wood window, adapting the latest technical advances to create a high-performance design that is both elegant and innovative. Its key technical breakthrough is the self-supporting glass, uninterrupted by frame, becoming a sheer transparent plane. This solution maximises the window´s open area, which is completely unobstructed by any structural element.
The double or triple-glazed pane is mounted on the inside of the wood frame and is fully operable in a variety of options (tilt-and-turn, sliding or hinged). The system allows unbroken openings up to six meters long (19´8´´). The glazing fits hermetically over the wood frame using the most sophisticated technology in hardware and seals. Triple gaskets assure maximum thermal and acoustic performance and weather tightness, meeting the highest European standards. The triple-glazed version meets the performance criteria for the “passive house”. The interior glazing is trimmed in black, white or a variety of baked enamel colours.
The wood, obtained from forests with sustainable management, is a high-strength and stable laminate. It is finished in low-maintenance varnishes guaranteed for up to 15 years. This innovative concept results in a design that stands out for its simplicity, quality of detail and elegance, combining the warmth of wood and the contemporary appeal of uninterrupted glass.
The window is custom-made in shop to client‘s requirements and installed on-site by our specialists. Double layers of laminated and tempered glass are mounted around a silicone spacer to create an insulating air cavity between them. The assembly is fixed to our custom aluminium profile, which also receives the hardware, including a locking pull with a high-security mechanism. Three separate gaskets assure energy efficiency. The wall frame is laminated chestnut from sustainably-harvested forests.
In an installation with coplanar glazing, the minimum glass composition is always: 4+4 / 24 air chamber / 6 tempered with 51mm colour perimeter border.
In the case of a standard installation, the configuration for the operable glazing is maintained, while fixed glazing can have a minimum configuration from 16 mm in the air chamber.
It is always possible to selectively use low-emissive glass in the glazing assembly in order to gain added passive energy savings.
It expresses the total percentage of energy, and therefore of heat, that passes through said glazing.
A glazing with an FS 42 only passes 42% of the heat from the sun’s rays (39% in direct transmission + 3% of heat absorbed and re-sent inwards by the glazing). The remaining 85 % is rejected, either by direct reflection (30%), or by the absorption and reemission of the glazing to the outside (28%).
It expresses the percentage pf light, of visible rays, transmitted by the glazing. Therefore a glazing of TL 71 allows 71% of the light to pass, and the rest is reflected or absorbed by the glazing. The light reflection follows the same reasoning, is the percentage of light reflected by the glazing of RL 12 reflects 12 % of sunlight, the rest transmits it or absorbs the glazing.
